#RememberRuth

On November 23rd, 2019, Ruth E. George was murdered and sexually assaulted in a university campus parking lot. No college student should have to fear for their life on their university campus. The system has failed her and countless other women all across the nation. Ruth, affectionately known as Ruthie, was a daughter, sister, student, and friend. Our beloved Iota sister was intelligent, caring, and humorous and was loved by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

We are so grateful for all the individuals and organizations who bought, donated and shared our #RememberRuth shirt initiative. With your help, we sold a total of 209 shirts and raised approximately $1000 in proceeds and donations. All of this money will go towards Resilience, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the healing and empowerment of sexual assault survivors through non-judgmental crisis intervention counseling, individual and group trauma therapy, and medical and legal advocacy in the greater Chicago metropolitan area.
